A: In most historic raised homes, the vast majority of drainage and supply piping runs beneath the subfloor in the crawlspace. We route new flexible PEX supply lines and PVC drain lines underneath the house, minimizing cuts into original interior walls.
Q: Is it necessary to replace all original cast iron pipes at once?
A: Not necessarily. We conduct a video camera inspection to evaluate the remaining pipe wall thickness. If sections are structurally stable, targeted spot repairs or mechanical cleaning can often restore service life without requiring a complete immediate overhaul. However, it is often recommended.
